The BB29 sounds fantastic, It has the effortless presence of an Elam 251 and the robust nature of a good old 87!...I love it and can't wait to try it on more things.

These mics truly sound great on everything. From orchestral recording to drum overheads, the Amethyst is a Swiss Army knife of recording. Warm, detailed, and useable in any situation.

This mic was the last one standing after several shoot-outs. It really sounds huge.. well done!!!

The new JZ BB29 sounds amazing on acoustic instruments like acoustic guitar, violin, and cello. The gentle lift in the top end gives the mic and open natural yet detailed sound but the little dip around 8-10K stops any harshness. This also helps vocals cut through without the need for extensive EQ to be added. The mic is so quiet which again makes it great for recording lower volume instruments or being used as a room mic. It’s a very versatile mic that would be a great addition to any mic collection.
